After spending time over at the Touch Arcade Forums, I have a pretty good idea of what some of the Physify users want in the next version (and future versions). The first update will be a small one with an additional tool and a few new features.
Update 1.1
- 2.2 and above compatibility (first version only supports 3.0)
- No Collide Tool – prevent groups or individual objects from colliding with another object.
- Joint Visibility – chose to hide or display joints while simulation is running.
- Welcome Scene – Pre-made Welcome scene loaded on first execution of game.
I really like seeing the community involved and submitting ideas to Physify. Three of the four new features of the 1.1 update were thought up by the community. I really hope to see this get somewhere, as I’ve had a great time developing it.
The first major update (second update) will have a good deal of new features, and possibly even an undo button. It may take a good deal of time to develop, but I figure the features implemented will be well worth the wait.

Imagine it. Draw it. Watch it come to life!
About
Physify is a 2D physics sandbox for the iPhone that takes your drawings and makes them react to the laws of physics. Draw boxes, circles, polygons and combine them to form a car, ragdoll, or anything you can think of! Physify allows you to save entire scenes, or individual objects, such as ragdolls, cars, etc. and reload them any time you want.
Features:
- Realistic 2D physics
- 13 different tools to use to create or modify the scene
- 4 types of joints to constrain objects together in a variety of ways
- Save and load progress
- Adjust physical properties of each tool
- Help and information pages for each tool
- Choice of accelerometer or defined gravity
- Duplicate, erase, or manipulate groups of objects
- Pre-made creations included
- Progress saved automatically
The only limit is your imagination. You have an infinite world to create an endless amount of contraptions and objects!
If you enjoy Phun, iPhysics, Toy Box, Touch Physics, or Crayon Physics, then Physify is the game for you!

-About–
Physify is a 2D physics sandbox (with a decent amount of the features from Phun). I’m extremely close to submitting this to Apple, but as to whether or not they approve it is up to them. I’m using Chipmunk Physics to simulate the physics (works great on the iPhone/iPod Touch). Current tools include:
Square – draws a square, plain and simple.
Circle – draws a circle based on the radius.
Segment (static) – draws a line with a radius that you can modify in the settings.
Polygon – “freeform drawing” draws a polygon (only convex polygons are supported for the time being).
Joints – (current: Pin, Pivot; might add spring and motor before release).
Clone – create an exact copy of a shape or group of shapes (selection compatible).
Eraser – erase an individual object or group of objects (selection compatible).
Grab – toss around shapes (much like Phun drag tool).
Position – manually move shapes or group of shape without physics interfering (selection compatible).
Rotation – rotate a single shape or group of shapes (selection compatible).
Lasso – draws a polygon around shapes you want to select.
Camera – pan around scene or zoom in and out.
Follow – place object in the center of the screen and follows it.

Physify – 2D Physics Sandbox
–Features–
- All of the above tools.
- Play / Pause
- Pre-made scenes and physlets
- Adjustable gravity; ability to react to accelerometer
- Settings menu for altering tool properties (friction, elasticity, etc)
- Save / Load menu for saving and loading Scenes and Physlets (Saved entities, much like phunlets).
- Information and instructions for using each tool in the settings.
–Quick Information–
Physify will be put on the app store for $1.99. As you can see in the second screen shot, I’m lacking some decent physlets and scenes. If have an iPhone and would like to help me build some physlets and/or scenes, I’ll provide you with a distribution build. Send me an email at nprof (AT) homebrewheaven.net if you’d like to help or would like to discuss more about the game. I’d really appreciate the help, I’m not the best at creating neat contraptions at all
. I’ll post a list of future plans later, because time isn’t really on my side right now.
I am taking request for tools, but please be reasonable.
